📋 About This Mod
Fully revealed world map for ALL characters and ALL difficulties.
Covering all current content:
-
[]Main Game (Vanilla)[/]
[]Ashes of Malmouth (AoM)[/]
[]Forgotten Gods (FG)[/]
[]Fangs of Asterkarn (Latest DLC)[/]
2,153 areas fully revealed — start every new character with a complete map.
Why this mod?
-
[]Updated in 2026 to include the latest Fangs of Asterkarn DLC[/]
[]One file works for every character, every difficulty[/]
[]Complete map visibility — all 2,153 areas revealed[/]
[]Tiny file (only 43 KB) — no performance impact[/]
[]Simple installation: just copy one file[/]
What it does
Replaces your map.fow with a fully revealed version. All areas on the world map become visible immediately, including some remote boundary regions. Waypoints still need to be discovered through normal gameplay.
What it doesn't do
-
[]Does not modify gameplay, quests, items, or character data[/]
[]Does not auto-unlock waypoints[/]
[]Does not affect multiplayer — but other players will not see your revealed map[/]
Note on map appearance
This mod reveals all defined map areas completely, including some boundary regions that are normally unreachable. You may notice rectangular sections at the edges of the map — these are game-defined areas that exist in the data but cannot be accessed through normal gameplay.
⚠ IMPORTANT: Disable Steam Cloud Save first!
Steam Cloud will overwrite this mod on every launch. Before installing:
-
[]Right-click Grim Dawn in Steam[/]
[]Properties → General[/]
[]Uncheck "Keep games saves in the Steam Cloud"[/]
If you skip this step, your revealed map will be replaced by the old cloud version every time you start the game.
Installation
-
[](Steam users) Disable Steam Cloud Save for Grim Dawn — see red warning above[/]
[]Launch the game once with your character and enter the world map to generate the save folder structure (skip if you already have a save)[/]
[]Navigate to your save folder:
Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save\main\{character_name}\levels_world001.map\{difficulty}\[/]
[]Back up your existing map.fow file[/]
[]Copy the provided map.fow into the folder[/]
[]Launch the game — your map is fully revealed[/]
Notes on the save folder path:
- {character_name} = your character's save folder name. This may differ slightly from the in-game name (for example, it may have an underscore prefix like _Shaw Thurlow). To find the correct folder, sort the folders inside save\main\ by modified date — the most recently played character will be at the top.
- {difficulty} = Normal, Elite, or Ultimate. You must copy map.fow into each difficulty folder you want revealed:
[]Normal — also used by Veteran difficulty
[]Elite
[]Ultimate
Uninstall
Restore your backup file, or delete map.fow entirely (the game regenerates it with fog on next launch).
Compatibility
-
[]Right-click Grim Dawn in Steam[/]
-
[]Does not modify gameplay, quests, items, or character data[/]
