Gothic ½ - Union (патч для Gothic) | World of Players RU

Both are highly recommended, if not using them you might run into issues! The mod was only tested with them.

Unpack my mod archive and drop in e.g [...]steamapps\common\TheChroniclesOfMyrtana\Data

Chronicles of Myrtana: >use this tool to change date of the original KM_Textures!< (click!) just go to info and change the date to 1990, resave the file! Done! You must do this for CoM, not needed for Gothic 2.

Normal Maps (a bit outdated now.. i'll update them eventually)

For Gothic 2 the folder has to be renamed from normalmaps_TheChroniclesOfMyrtana to Normalmaps_original

Drag the folder to: TheChroniclesOfMyrtana\system\GD3D11\Textures\Replacements (you might need to create this folder)

Remember to turn on normal maps for the renderer, F11.

Below should not matter for Steam, if i understand it correctly:

Q: Does the mod upgrade all textures?

A: No, but most of the important ones that you will see a lot in the game. This is a work in progress.

Q: Will it work for Gothic 2 and other mods?

A: For G2 yes, for other mods, very likely, but it depends, if this mod changed the original textures to a very specific style they're going for (snow or whatever) then my textures can look weird or won't fit. Doesn't hurt trying, it's easy to uninstall and it won't mess up your game trying.

Q: So this is another "upscale" mod?

A: No. The textures are resynthesized, thus they are entirely new, but i have tried my best to make it look similar to original CoM or Gothic 2 graphics in terms of style, they're just sharper and has much more detail. In a few cases the textures has been done from scratch, without any inspiration from the original texture.
