# Description
Just started a playthrough of NB using available English dubbing by EsMM27, however, many lines are not dubbed as it's quite outdated, and since I couldn't stand random Russian phrases breaking the immersion, I've made this mod for personal use, but sharing as I go along.

NBEnglishMC.vdf - this is where Xardas intro, MC object interaction, and combat lines are based on the original English VA. (e.g. "interesting", "Beliar", taunting enemies, etc.)
NBEnglish2.vdf - this is where the rest of the base New Balance dubbing is. Note that this was mass-dubbed without filtering out the MC, so even the MC has cheeki breeki accent and a different voice lol, but it's all English at least. Might update later, but that's thousands of .wav files to sort through.
NBEnglish3-PathOfTheDamned.vdf - same as above, but for the Path Of The Damned addon.
# Installation
First, make sure you have New Balance installed correctly. The original and updated source here.
Extract and drop NBEnglishMC.vdf, NBEnglish2.vdf, and NBEnglish3-PathOfTheDamned.vdf into your Gothic 2 New Balance installation Data folder alongside the base dubbing by EsMM27
Additionally, remove (or backup just in case) all the AB_Speech_xx.vdf (but NOT any other Speech) files from the Data folder if you want to completely remove Russian, but beware, if voice lines in the future are not covered by original speech files, this or base dubbing by EsMM27, then characters will not speak.. duh. But as of 2026-03-01, 100% is covered, and the game runs fine even if it doesn't find audio files. If you leave those in, then some original game speech lines will be overwritten by Russian, given that Gothic mod load order is based on VDF date, not name.
