GoW Ragnarok slow walk mod

Tired of sprinting everywhere? This lightweight Python script emulates a virtual Xbox 360 controller at the system driver level. It allows you to get completely smooth, omnidirectional jogging using your standard WASD keys, and a cinematic console slow-walk simply by holding down the Left Alt key.

🛠️ Requirements & Installation

You only need to install two things to make this mod work:

Step 1: Install Python

1.    Download Python 3 from the official website (python.org).

2.    CRITICAL: During installation, make sure to check the box at the bottom that says "Add Python to PATH" before clicking install.

Step 2: Install the Input Libraries

1.    Open your Windows Start Menu, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.

2.    Copy and paste the following command, then press Enter:

pip install keyboard vgamepad

 (Note: Windows might show a quick pop-up asking for permission to install the companion ViGEmBus controller driver. Click Yes to authorize it).

🚀 How to Use It

1.    Download the archive from the Files tab and extract the script straight to your Desktop.

2.    Open the GoW Ragnarok_walk.py

3.    Keep the black command window open in the background while playing.

4.    Launch God of War Ragnarok!

In-Game Controls:

·         WASD: Jog/move in any direction normally (Full analog stick emulation).

·         Hold Left Alt + WASD: Walk in any direction with a smooth, console-style cinematic glide.

·         To Turn Off: Switch back to the command window and press CTRL + C.

1. Unbind WASD keys in Game Settings or bind them to arrows or any other keys you don’t use  (Highly Recommended)

Since this script converts your WASD keys into virtual controller joysticks you should do this. If you don't, the game will receive both Keyboard (full speed) and Controller (smooth speed) inputs at the same time, which can cause jittery movement or camera bugs.

2. Disable Steam Input

Steam often tries to block or filter custom virtual controllers. If Kratos stands completely still and won't move at all:

1.    Open your Steam Library.

2.    Right-click God of War Ragnarok and choose Properties.

3.    Go to the Controller tab.

4.    Change the dropdown menu next to "Override" to Disable Steam Input.
