📦 Install Methods

1. Steam Workshop (easiest)

  1. Open the Garry's Mod Workshop on Steam.
  2. Click "Subscribe" on the addon or map you want.
  3. Steam downloads it automatically.
  4. Restart Garry's Mod (or refresh the Addons menu).
  5. The addon is ready under Addons.

2. Manual (folder drop)

  1. Download the addon (a .zip or folder).
  2. Extract it to Steam/steamapps/common/GarrysMod/garrysmod/addons/<addon-name>/.
  3. Restart Garry's Mod.
  4. GMod loads the addon from the addons folder.

3. Legacy .gma files

  1. Old addons ship as .gma (Garry's Mod Addon) archives.
  2. Place the .gma in garrysmod/addons/, or extract it with gmad.exe.
  3. Modern Workshop addons are plain folders — .gma is mostly legacy.
