CC3M1 Rosetta

The Rosetta is a cheap lightweight armored car designed with maintainability and ease of use in mind. It is a cheaper and quicker to produce alternative to the Esturion intended to outfit potentially large numbers of conscripted force with motor vehicles. By being a 4x4 wheeled vehicle, it handles much like civilian cars and can be maintained in a similar way. A civilian who have basic knowledge of how a car works and capable of doing basic maintenance can service the CC3M1 Rosetta equally as well. A recoilless rifle was chosen as its primary armament in order to be able to fit on such a lightweight vehicle. Recoilless rifles also require less training to be competent in its use compared to traditional tank guns. Unlike the latter, troubleshooting, jams, aiming, and disassembly are much simpler to deal with. The gunner is also equipped with a simple optical sight. Onboard electronics are off the shelf and operate similar to consumer electronics so conscripts can readily adjust with minimal training. This vehicle is manned by a crew of three, driver, gunner, and the commander/loader. The cupola has no vision block as its positioned in a way that isn't directly above anyone's head. To compensate for the lack of vision, the commander has a remote controlled independent sight. A number of Rosetta is given to reservist troops to maintain and operate during peacetime in addition to their standard equipment of older Escutcheons. During wartime, the Rosetta is given to conscripts while the reservists use their older escutcheons. Production of the Rosetta can be ramped up since it have comparatively simple automotive components that allow civilian sectors to manufacture and ramp up production. There's also a number of of freshly produced vehicles placed into immediate storage in case a large number of armored units need to be raised.
