📋 About This Mod

A simple ini file with filters that resemble ps2 visuals

Description

A simple ini file with filters that resemble ps2 graphics. Compatible with UnX's Reshade

Installation

It should be straight forward if you dont mod the game.  Download ReShade from the official site and install it on the game. During installation, you will be prompted to either choose your filters from a filter list, or you can use an .ini file that has a pre-selected filter list. Pick that .ini file and finish the installation

If you mod the game, then you need to follow these steps (this is for windows)

-Create a backup copy of the game

-Install the Final Fantasy X and X2 External File Loader.

-Download and install ReShade on the game, and select my .ini file to download the shaders

-Run the game and configure Reshade's/filter settings if you want

-Install the latest version of UnX mod from the official github page. Through this, you will be able to run Reshade again

-Inside the game's folder, find dxgi.dll, and rename it to  d3d11.dll

-From what I remember you need to copy the Reshade32.dll from the game's directory to C:\Users\YourName\Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\Plugins\ThirdParty\ReShade

-Start the game and use ctrl+shift+backspace to active UnX's menu. At the bottom of that menu you will see a menu called plug ins. In there activate ReShade as an official plugin. You will now be able to use Reshade and its hotkey with UnX again

**Disclaimer: That UnX+Reshade combo is a bit unstable from my experience, but it works. The game only crashes whenever I bring out the UnX's menu when I start the game (I have like 2-3 secs of time to do anything and it always crashes when the game starts playing the intro) and I also get crashes every time I get a steam achievement. I can go back to that scene where I got the achievement, replay it, and proceed like normal. I dont know if I did something wrong with the installation process, but I ended up with these two problems. On the other hand, the result is good enough for me to ignore these minor issues. If anyone has a better way to install UnX+ReShade, or knows what's wrong, please post your solution in the comments

Question: Why the game looks "blurry"?

Answer: High model textures tend to stand out in front of the upscaled background textures. This ntsc retroarch gamma blur filter blends everything nicely, plus you have the pc port advantage of still enjoying your crispy HD model textures on close up cinematic shots. You can always disable that filter if you dont like it, and you are also free to re-adjust everything else as well.
