Defender X boss HARD DIFFICULTY

Replaces the original Defender X boss with a new version: much stronger, with new attacks and tricks. Works for all languages.

Requires ffgriever's External File Loader!

I always thought that Defender X was such a missed oportunity in Final Fantasy X, once you know its weakness, the battle becomes trivial.

In this mod, I made an attempt to fix that, resulting in a much more difficult boss that, due to not having obtained Yojimbo, can only be defeated with two specific strategies (and neither of them require Rikku's 9999 Mixes)

In the short term, I won't be spoiling what the strategies are and will leave it up to you to figure out (that's kind of the point of this mod)

And no, you can't force your way in by just grinding until you complete everyone's path on the sphere grid, that's still not enough at all.

Either you have stats to the point where fighting superbosses is viable, or your only option is using one of the two only intended strategies.

Overdrives, Specials, Black Magic and White Magic are safe.

STATS:

HP: 370,000 (Calculated as explained below)

MP: 999,999

Strength: 255

Defense: 255

Magic Defense: 255

Accuracy: 255

Agility: 14

Elements: Weak to Fire/Ice/Lightning/Water/Holy (This is to compensate in case you don't use Mix)

Status resistances and immunities greatly changed as well.

Has Auto-Scan (permanent Sensor effect regardless of your characters' weapons)

The only original ability preserved is Haymaker, but it's used differently now.

HP was calculated on the assumption that you have a party of Rikku, Lulu and Wakka, and Rikku mixes Trio of 9999 during a spare turn (as a worst case scenario, not as the expected or ideal case scenario)

Lulu uses a Fury (16 hits), Wakka uses Attack Reels (12 hits), and Rikku uses an elemental mix (9 hits), for a grand total of just under 370K damage (37 hits). This is as much damage as you can get in a single turn via Trio of 9999 already used in a previous turn.

It still could potentially, although to a much lesser extent, be cheesed with Use items since those ignore all stats, but its HP pool is already large enough with the single turn damage total. Not that the unusually large HP is a problem if you follow the right strategies. You don't need Mix or Use for them. They do NOT rely on being overpowered or need any grinding, that's a whole different approach on itself.
