Hi-Res Ardyn Retextures

HI-RES ARDYN RETEXTURES

Similar to HD Ardyn Scarf and Hood but these are hi-res retextures for Ardyn's FULL outfit. All of the cloth textures - diffuse, normals, mrs, alphas, and AOs - are edited at at least 200% size. I did most of the work from scratch; only the AOs are upscaled and cleared up a bit. The edits aren't perfect or 100% accurate but they do the job and Ardyn finally doesn't pixelate so much.

I took some liberties with a few details, which I didn't like or wasn't sure about the originals since official art in HD is so scarce. I'm also aware there are some issues, esp with some leftover pixelation but that occurs due to the .dds compression and I'm not sure if I can get rid of it in any way. I spent about a month on this (on and off ofc) and chances that I'll still edit it further are close to zero. -__-

The files include Ardyn's standard Chancellor outfit, the daemon version, the two Dissidia recolors based on this and this, an X-mas version based on this post, and a surprise based on a tumblr post. Don't click the link if you want to be surprised. :) The mod affects all instances of Ardyn's attire in the game - Ardyn in the main game, in all DLCs including Comrades and EPA, as well as "Ardyn's Ensemble" outfit for Noctis. I retextured the hat and wing as well although those rarely can be seen in the game.

INSTALLATION:

Copy and overwrite the 'autoexternal.earc' file in the respective folder in the game directory.

Obviously, you can only use one retexture at a time since they all replace the same original file.

BACK UP YOUR ORIGINAL FILE BEFORE USING THESE RETEXTURES.

You may use this in private projects but out of respect for the authors of some used resources (and me), do not use this for profit or any commercial purposes.
