Nabreus Deadlands Crash Fix

Fixes a crash when travelling between the two Nabreus Deadlands areas in Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age (Steam / PC).

The problem

When you move from one zone to another, the game unloads the graphics data (shaders) used by the area you're leaving. Normally this happens in the background without you noticing. However, the game can occasionally try to keep using shader data that has already been unloaded, which crashes the game to the desktop.

The crash is timing/luck based - it does not happen every time, but the more you move back and forth between areas, the more likely it becomes. The easiest place to trigger it is when transitioning between The Slumbermead and Echoes of the Past in Nabreus Deadlands, where after just a few trips the game usually crashes. It is possible to trigger the same issue in other locations as well, not only in Nabreus Deadlands, although it's very rare.

This is a timing/memory issue, not something wrong with your save file or the game settings.

The fix

This mod makes the game safely ignore shader data that has already been unloaded, instead of crashing on it. It works in the background and does not change gameplay, graphics, or performance.
