Weapon Textures HD Patch

Fixed low-resolution weapon textures when you see them in the world, such as on a table or on the ground.

Does not affect textures on 1st/3rd person.

The weapon meshes use two textures of the same model: the texture you see when playing in 1st/3rd person, and the texture in the world.

The fix is ​​a simple replacement of low-resolution textures with similar but higher quality ones, these are the vanilla textures you see when playing in first person mode, without any editing. In addition to the textures themselves, normal maps, glow maps and environment masks were also improved in the same way.

The resolution of some textures has been increased from 128x128 to 1024x1024! All this was already in the game files.

This also fixes vanilla visual bugs for the . 32 revolver and hunting rifle. The improvement also affects some types of ammunition and junk.

Does not affect all weapons, only those that had a higher quality texture in the game files.

Applies to the base game and all add-ons.

It is recommended to put the mod as a base for retextures, so place it as high as possible in your mod installer.

Added compatibility patch with Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch:

--- You must install the Patch.

--- Then the main Weapon textures HD.

--- Then the HD weapons for UUF3P. 

jan2025: the patch for the patch was removed, these were unnecessary gestures, all edits of the unofficial patch were moved to the main file

Regarding TTW compatibility: this will work for meshes that have not been heavily edited (texture and path), some textures will look incorrect (Hunting rifle) or have no changes, I still recommend this for TTW only if you are going to put mesh replacers on top this.

It is not recommended to put other mods fixing weapon textures.

Temporary until update (upd: luxor8071 won't fix this):

If you are using Fallout 3 HD Overhaul textures, the Infiltrator has the wrong textures, in the HD Overhaul mod delete everything in the textures\dlcpitt\weapons\2handautomatic folder.
