📋 About This Mod
This is a conversion of the original Hair Tones Redux for Fallout 4 by radbeetle.
I have permission from radbeetle to publish my conversion for Fallout 76.
The original mod served as a refresh of all vanilla hair colors, making them more vibrant and closer to their respective names.
For instance: 'white' now means white. And 'black' now really is black instead of dark gray-ish.
Overview of all hair colors
What version to choose?
Like the original Fallout 4 version, this conversion also includes the lighter
and darker brow options. If you want to keep a similar to vanilla look,
go with Regular.
Here is a comparison between the versions:
Installation
I recommend Fallout 76 Quick Configuration for installing any mods.
-
[]Open the FO76 Quick Configurator.
[
]Click on Mods, this opens the Mod Manager[]Go to File > Add Mod > From archive

[]The mod should now be added in the modlist. Select it and press Deploy, this will install it.
[]Done!
Manual installation
Not recommend since becomes annoying when using more than one mod.
-
[]Unpack the downloaded file and copy the . BA2 file to your Fallout 76\Data directory.
[
]Head to Documents\My Games\Fallout 76 and open Fallout76Custom.ini[]In case the file does not exist yet, copy and rename Fallout4.ini to Fallout4Custom.ini and remove the text inside so you have an empty file.
[]Now copy the following line:
sResourceIndexFileList=file name.ba2
- In case you already have mods listed here, just add mine to the list separated by a comma [,].
I want to thank radbeetle for allowing me to upload the file, all credit goes to them!

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-trusted conversion (131 endorsements) from a known author, radbeetle.
- Simple color overhaul that makes hair colors actually match their names—no more grayish 'black'.
- Multiple brow options (Regular, Lighter, Darker) give players control over the final look.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 131 endorsements—this is a niche mod, so don't expect widespread testing or support.
- Last updated in 2022—may not be compatible with recent Fallout 76 updates, so check before installing.
- Manual installation is not recommended by the author, which could be a hurdle for players not using the Quick Configuration tool.
For Fallout 76 players who are bothered by washed-out or inaccurate hair colors and want a quick visual fix. Also for fans of the original Fallout 4 mod who want the same experience in 76. Skip if you're looking for new hairstyles or gameplay changes—this is purely a color tweak.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Use the Fallout 76 Quick Configuration mod manager as the author recommends—it simplifies installation and management of multiple mods.
- If you install manually, make sure to add the .BA2 file to your Data folder and update Fallout76Custom.ini with the correct sResourceIndexFileList line.
- Check the comparison image to decide between Regular, Lighter, and Darker brow versions before downloading.
