📋 About This Mod
Only tested on 1. 10. 163 version of FO4 (works on NG too)
A performance friendly and subjective overhaul of Fallout 4 vanilla weathers. This mod adds a bunch of new clear/creepy/grim/colorful/bleak/dark weathers without introducing any new script: 100% made in CK and xEdit using only internal assets. All files are light eslified ESPs.
Requires FH and NW.
Main features:
- Many more weathers than vanilla, added Duststorms in Nuka World and a Rainy Radstorm weather
- All weathers and IMSPs are standalone. All the worldspaces have now their own unified imagespace not related to weather type
- Climates: modular choices for each worldspace climate. You can have fog in the CW, terrible weathers in FH/GS and clear skies in NW. A lot of customizations and different combinations are available
- Added a Glowing Sea plugin which allows you to tweak climate chances (including vanilla-like chances) and optionally remove the background radiation hazard (for those who want a clear weathers combo there)
- Godrays intensity lowered, ray effect barely noticeable, very soft and warm volumetric light. Subtle effect during nights (optional vanilla godrays light ESP in the FOMOD).
- Removed a lot of shrinking and intrusive lensflare effects, larger and warmer glow effect (optional vanilla sunflare light ESP in the FOMOD)
- Option to remove/keep the vanilla clear days haze
- Options to configure night brightness level
- More noticeable rain (no new textures)
- Fog line removed
- Winds turbulence and power reduced for some weathers: less noticeable effect on tree branches during some weather transitions
- Tweaked Fried Fog Crawler food buff values. In case you don't know, this food increases your damage resistance depending on fog intensity
- Zorkaz's Inner City Ambience compatibility patch
- Don't worry for the load order, the FOMOD will automatically install all the required light ESPs and everything will work out of the box.
Warnings
:- First things first! I warmly advice to install this mod via a mod manager. If you want to go manual, pls only install the main ESP in the Core_ManualInstallation folder + the optional Inner City Ambience compatibility ESP, if you use that mod
- Safe to install at any time; you'll probably need to wait a bit before the new weathers show up, you can install it while you're inside an interior cell, you can fw weatherID or sw weatherID in console
- If you want to uninstall/update, it won't leave any unattached script to your save, but be sure to wait some time inside an interior cell (not in DIamond City - Goodneighbor - NWMarket - NWAmphitheatre). Always backup your saves!
- IMSPs and weathers are standalones. This means that every vanill

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Performance-friendly design with light ESPs, so you won't tank your FPS in downtown Boston.
- Configurable climate chances per region, letting you tweak weather frequency to your liking.
- Community-approved with 232 endorsements and over 5.5k downloads, so it's been tested by real players.
⚠️ Cons
- Only uses internal assets, so the visual changes are subtle compared to full weather overhauls like Vivid Weathers.
- Requires manual INI tweaking to get the most out of the configurable options, which might be a hassle for some.
- Compatibility risk with other weather mods that alter the same climate settings, so check your load order.
For Fallout 4 players who want a weather overhaul that doesn't sacrifice performance, especially on mid-range rigs. Also for modders who like fine-tuning climate chances per region. Skip if you want dramatic, photorealistic weather effects—this is a subtle, performance-first option.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2 to install and manage the ESPs, and place this mod early in your load order to avoid conflicts.
- If you're on PC, you can tweak the INI files to adjust night brightness and godrays to your preference—test in-game to find the sweet spot.
- Since it uses internal assets, it's compatible with most texture mods, but avoid stacking other weather mods that change climate chances.
