That combat shotgun not doing it for ya? Don't feel the double-barreled shotgun is pulling its weight? Are you man of smol peener and want to compensate not just for your peener but ever peener in the whole United States? Then shove those wimpy shotguns in the trash and get yourself a man's shotgun! One that can blow a door down with one shot and rip your arm out of your socket like an angry Wookiee.

Introducing the punt gun! A punt gun is a massive shotgun, often hand-made, used through the 19th and early 20th centuries for mass-hunting waterfowl, and gets its name due to the fact these beasts were typically mounted on a type of boat called a punt. A single shot from a punt gun could wipe out 50 or more waterfowl, and on occasion fleets of up to 10 punts toting these massive shotguns were deployed for maximal hunting efficiency. Due to how rapidly these things depleted stocks of wild waterfowl, the use of punts guns was eventually outlawed in most states by the 1860's. Of course, this being the Commonwealth wasteland, old bans don't matter anymore, and punt guns have begun to make a little bit of a comeback..

The punt gun, owing to its ludicrous size, is heavy, a bit slow to reload and kicks like a draft horse, but there's no better way to clear out a room of ghouls or prompt a bunch of raiders to foul their power armor than to bust out one of these bad boys. The mod comes with custom meshes, textures, sounds, muzzle flash, and even a reload animation!

The punt gun is also reasonably moddable, coming with:

3 muzzle attachments

4 choke options

11 ammo options

The punt gun also does a base 160 damage, and is classed as a big gun, meaning its stats will change depending on ranks in big gun related perks. Its base weight clocks in at 35 pounds, and will of course raise or lower depending on mods attached, though will still remain in double digits. These things were meant to be mounted on boats after all.

Now, as you may have noticed, the gun comes with more than a few ammo options. Apart from standard buckshot, there's also birdshot, which increases the projectile count and so makes the punt gun vomit lead, though it slightly reduces damage. On top of this there's slugs, which as you'd expect are quite sizeable compared to your usual shotgun slug. The gun also does a bit more bash damage than a normal gun due in part to it being so hefty. Power armor is almost a must for this beast, but nothing's really stopping you from carting this sucker around without it. Of note, the explosive buckshot and explosive
