Introduction
In vanilla Fallout 4, the Pip-Boy radio has no meaningful impact on stealth detection. You can move through hostile environments with music blasting from your wrist without increasing your chances of being noticed.
This creates a subtle immersion break. Sound should matter.
Broadcasting music in enemy territory should influence how easily you are detected and how quickly enemies become aware of your presence.
This mod introduces radio-based detection influence directly at the engine level. When your Pip-Boy radio is active, it dynamically affects the game's internal detection formula, making you more noticeable to nearby NPCs.
Configuration
The mod is configurable through the included INI file located in the F4SE plugins folder.
All parameters controlling the radio detection influence can be adjusted to fine-tune how much your Pip-Boy radio affects stealth gameplay.
You can define the maximum distance at which the radio can be heard and how strongly it contributes to the internal detection calculation.
The detection impact scales dynamically with distance:
At close range, the radio produces a stronger detection contribution.
At greater distances, the effect gradually decreases until it reaches the configured minimum value.
Every setting inside the INI file is clearly documented, allowing you to balance subtle immersion changes or significantly increase the stealth risk of using the radio in hostile environments.
Installation
