📋 About This Mod
Adds height maps to enable the amazing ENB Complex Parallax on Vanilla landscape textures to provide more depth and detail to the terrain.
What's included, exactly?
Adds height maps into the alpha channel of SpecGloss (_s) textures files from the High Resolution DLC pack. It does this for the relevant files in the following directories:
- Textures/Landscape
- Textures/SetDressing/Rubble
The SpecGloss files are at the same 2k resolution and otherwise unchanged from Vanilla but have been recompressed to maximise the quality of the alpha channel and avoid banding.
But, the main road in Sanctuary looks a bit different?
There's always an exception! This texture is used on low density meshes and the parallax effect created unacceptable distortions. It has therefore been carefully upscaled to 4k, with an additional pass of fine detail added.
Will there be a 1k or 512 option?
If you are looking for performant options for textures I wouldn't recommend using these. In my testing at lower texture resolutions, too much stretching was introduced.
How come Rocks are provided separately?
Some of the rock meshes are quite basic in their geometry and can struggle with ENB Complex Parallax, so using them may show artefacts and stretching. That being said, I reduced the intensity of parallax on rock textures to mitigate where possible.
Are trees included?
During my testing, I found adding height maps to the trees caused too much stretching, and surmised they would probably need to be remade with more geometry to take advantage of ENB Complex Parallax correctly.
Will there be an archived version available?
I intend to refine some of these textures further and will create a .ba2 archive version once they are complete.
Any thing else to know?
Also included is an amended file for DebrisGroundBrick_d.dds as it was tiled incorrectly by default and has now been fixed.
