MO2 BA2 Archive Count Script (PowerShell)

The BA2 limit is

General (main. BA2) → 255 Causes a crash.

Textures. BA2 → 254 Doesn't crash, but the texture won't load.

Instead, I recommend the following tools

So I'll leave it for now.

Overview

This script counts BA2 archives in MO2. It does not have a GUI; you specify the profile via PowerShell.

Reliability is not guaranteed, so please use it as a reference only.

If a similar tool already exists, please let me know—I just want to use it.

What it shows

• []Number of plugins that load BA2 files in the selected profile

[]Number of Textures.ba2 files

[]Number of other BA2 files

[]List of all BA2 files with their file sizes

How to use

• []In MO2, click the folder icon and select "Open Instance Folder".

  []Place this PowerShell script and its batch file into that folder.

  []Double-click "Count-BA2Plugins.bat" to run it.

  (The batch file temporarily allows the script to execute. This is not a virus, but you may check the contents before running for safety.)

  []When the PowerShell window appears, type the profile name you want to check and press Enter.

  []Please use only alphanumeric characters for the profile name.

  []Next, you will be asked whether to include NG version Creation Club (CC) content. Type Y or N and press Enter.

  []A folder named BA2_count will be created, containing CSV and TXT outputs.

[]MODs outside MO2 management will not be counted.

[]The script assumes the base game and DLCs are present. If NG version CC content is included, a fixed number is added to the totals.

[]The script calculates counts based on the strings in plugins.txt and modlist.txt of the selected profile, so complete accuracy is not guaranteed.

(In practice, the number of MODs and plugins may differ for unknown reasons; the results are displayed for reference.)[*]BA2 files from the base game listed in the ini are not included in the calculation.

This script does not count these due to a misun
