BodySlide OSP Base Generator (Automatic SliderSet Template Tool)

This tool automatically generates base OSP files for BodySlide/Outfit Studio.

It scans your meshes and creates a ready-to-edit SliderSet template with the correct ShapeData structure, so you can quickly start converting outfits or building new body types.

The generated project contains unmodified meshes, and the OSP file includes object display names (auto-generated from .nif names as shown in BodySlide). Other settings such as sliders, morphs, and groups must be configured manually in BodySlide / Outfit Studio.

Normally, you would:

• []Open Outfit Studio

  []Import the mesh you want to edit

  []Choose “Save as Project”, set the Display Name, save location, and output path, then save.

• []Python 3.x

  []During installation, check “Add Python to PATH” so the script can be run from command prompt or .bat file

    []Sets BodySlide and Outfit Studio display names based on the original mesh filenames (See the notes for how to change it.)

    []No matter how many meshes there are, they will all be included as independent projects in one OSP

    []The tool now includes a safety check: if a ShapeData folder with the same name already exists, the script will stop to prevent overwriting.

  How to Use
  • []Place your meshes in the Meshes folder, keeping the same folder structure as in the original game or MOD.

    []Put the script in the same root folder.

    []Run the included .bat file (its name will be used for the OSP file - rename as you like).

    []The tool will create:

    └ BodySlide

    ├ SliderSets

    │ └ bat_name. OSP

    └ ShapeData

    └ bat_name folder

    └ renamed mesh files with folder names

    []Place the generated Tools folder like a normal MOD, you can open it in BodySlide/Outfit Studio and start editing right away.

  Notes
  • []This tool only creates a base template. Display names, Sliders, and Weights. Finally, Groups require manual setup.

  • Display names are automatically generated from the .nif file names. For better readability, you may need to open the .osp file in a text editor (e.g. Notepad) and edit the SliderSet name fields directly.
