📋 About This Mod
Want a challenge? Trying to make the game a bit harder? Are you trying to grind to get a two-shot gauss rifle, but you keep getting a punishing raider left arm? This is the mod for you!
What does this mod do?
Simply put; everything that CAN be legendary, IS legendary! Radroaches, Humans, even Super Mutant Behemoths! and they all have legendary loot! Though, none of the names are changed as it would be quite tedious to prefix everyone's names with "Legendary" manually :p
This also apply to the player!
When the player hits 50% health, they will mutate. This grants the effects of making your shooting accuracy pinpoint and giving you a 50% damage boost (this happens to all other humans too, just like in vanilla!) This is an excellent segway into the next section-
How do legendary enemies work?
There are 4 different types of legendary effects enemies in Fallout 4 can have when they mutate, which of course triggers at half health:
-
[]2x Damage - You deal 2 times more damage.
[
]Accuracy - Shooting accuracy is set to max possible, and damage increases by 50%.[]Explosion - Shooting accuracy is set to the max possible, and you violently explode upon death.
[]Poison - Your attacks now inflict poison damage for 10 seconds, increasing in damage the higher level your target is.
[]Radioactive - Your attacks now inflict 10 times more radiation damage.
As you might be able to guess, these effects are applied to enemies where it is most suitable. Deathclaws, Yao-Guai, and Mirelurks get the 2x Damage buff; Humans, Super Mutants, and ghouls get the Accuracy buff; Robots get the Explosive buff; most insects get the Poison buff; and ghouls and the like get the Radioactive buff.
These whimsical mutations last for a total of 15 real-life minutes of playing. Although, these have been tuned for the player down to just 2 minutes, as it would get quite annoying watching your character glow and cover your screen for 15 minutes.
Unfortunately, legendary mutations will only ever trigger ONCE due to how the script works for legendary creatures, turning what could be an interesting reusable buff for the player into a one-time gimmick buff. Sad.
If you didn't already know, each mutation type also has (mostly) unique visual effects too!
Extra tidbits to know!
[]Corpses are not legendary, as they are dead and can't really run scripts that require them to be alive to function.
[*]If an enemy dies and does not drop a legendary item; wait around for a bit. The game
