📋 About This Mod
Basically, higher quality music with less audio compression for both radio and background tracks in the entire game, its DLCs and CC content.
This mod uses audio from PS4 as a source, so no AI or other processing.
Just take a listen at SoundCloud
Fallout 4 is a game from 2015. So in order to reduce the size of the install, Bethesda used audio compression. A pretty strong audio compression. You can really hear the compression artifacts.
PS4 version of the game features better sound quality because it uses Sony's proprietary audio format.
This mod is a port of PS4 music to PC. It takes up more storage, but it is definitely worth it.
Above is an animated spectrogram that visualizes the differences. As you can see, vanilla version has a lot of data missing (black blocky patches). And any sound higher than 12kHz is completely cut off.
This is a different spectrogram. Here, blue represents the vanilla audio, and green is this mod's audio. As you can tell, much more audio data is preserved.
Simple version.
If you have all the DLCs, just download the main file and install it like any other mod.
If you don't own the DLCs or own only some of them, download the respective files under optional downloads.
Complex version.
.esp files in this mod just load a .ba2 archive. So if you want, you can just add them to the SResourceArchiveList2= in your .ini file. And then delete the .esps. This will make the game load the archives without .esp files.
To do so, you need to add the names of the archives at the end of SResourceArchiveList2= in your Fallout4.ini or Fallout4Custom.ini
So, If I use the All in One version my line is going to look like this
"SResourceArchiveList2=Fallout4 - Animations.ba2, HQMusicAIO - Main.ba2"
With not All in One version, you just add the names of those archives. You guys are smart, you'll figure it out!

✅ Pros
- Solid community backing with 363 endorsements and over 12k downloads
- Restores music using a higher quality source, which is a smart approach
- Covers all DLCs and CC content, so you get the full experience
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects music, not other audio like sound effects or voice acting
- Potential compatibility issues with other audio mods that alter music files
- Requires manual installation or mod manager setup, which might be a hurdle for some
For Fallout 4 players who care about audio fidelity and want a cleaner, more immersive soundtrack without changing gameplay. If you're a modder or audiophile who notices compression artifacts, this is for you. Skip if you're fine with the original music or want broader audio overhauls.
