Fallonstown - Fallon's Department Store Settlement and more(WIP)

News, Aug 2025: This was an early Fallout 4 mod of mine, and whilst it is perfectly serviceable, it's not up to my current standard any more. I will be revisiting it, but I don't currently have an ETA (sorry). I've unhidden this mod in case anybody needs to redownload old versions, but I do encourage you to try out my newer mods.

Overrun by Super Mutants, flanked by feral ghouls, everyone in the Commonwealth knows not to go near Fallon's Department Store. But you're not "everyone", are you?

No less imposing for how weathered it is, the Fallon's building strikes an almost menacing silhouette against green skies; and covered in the horrific viscera of unfortunate wastelanders rent in pieces, it's a sick reminder of grim reality. What was once a bustling communal place for husbands and wives and their children is now a monument to the desperate fight for survival their few descendants face, and even those few descendants now lie silent. Blood and mud both well around your boots on approach, and though you cover your face for protection, you cannot escape the stench that burns your nostrils. The Commonwealth is sick, bleeding out from two centuries of violence and suffering, and here stands a bastion encapsulating the disease. This place is death.

As the first of the Mutant Hounds catches your scent and begins to howl, you ready your weapon and make your move. You're not "everyone", and it's time to reclaim the Commonwealth.

This mod is a work-in-progress, with the intent on adding two large settlements (one interior and one exterior) to the Commonwealth, based in and around Fallon's. It adds new areas and unique features to discover, lore-friendly environmental storytelling, with extensive rebuilt precombines, navmesh, and visibility.

With version 0. 9, the interior settlement is now finished. Upon visiting Fallon's for the first time, your experience will be almost identical (if not actually identical) to the vanilla game. Once you have cleared the place of hostiles however, you can find and access the workshop to begin readying the building for habitation. Now that you can clean the place up, you can clear away the rubble in the collapsed hallways and doorways to discover brand new fully nav-meshed areas with environmental storytelling and unique loot.

When making your settlement, if you want to keep the furniture that comes with Fallon's and have it work, I recommend you still scrap it and replace it anew. Bethesda never intended this area to be a settlement, so it's fairly random which placed chairs are actually usable furniture and which are non-usable static objects.
