📋 About This Mod
FEATURES
Techno mutants formerly exclusive to the wastes and territories of regions like the Glowing Sea and Nuka World now roam the Commonwealth. Different versions of this mod are available featuring different enemy gameplay including Commonwealth encounters (allied with super mutant factions), Power Station (occupying the Natick Power Station battle site) encounters, Hostile encounters (hostile to super mutant factions) and Robot encounters (only techno mutant robot spawns). Each techno super mutant variant has been added to the appropriate base-game super mutant equivalent spawn list. Techno mutants and techno mutant robots can be very high-leveled, caution is advised when encountering them.
INSTALLATION
Install any required files. Choose only one main version to install. Install the latest main file. For manual installation, extract the file to your game’s data folder. For a mod manager installation, install the file with your preferred mod manager.
COMPATIBILITY
This mod only makes changes to super mutant spawn lists. Manually placed spawns are only added to the Power Stations version. No changes have been made to techno mutant encounters in the Glowing Sea and Nuka World present in the original mod. The mods Techno Mutants, Techno Mutants Far Harbor Overtaken, and South of the Sea are compatible. The mod Super Mutant Redux requires further testing for compatibility that will be addressed in the future.
KNOWN ISSUES
This mod contains super mutant variants that are larger and exhibit different movement which may result in pathing or combat issues. Submitting a bug report or leaving a comment will help me fix things faster if the mod is not working as intended.
RECOMMENDED
To encounter techno mutants on The Island, use the mod Techno Mutants Far Harbor Overtaken. Some images used for this mod feature climates from my weather mod Post Nuclear Weathers 2.
CREDITS
This mod relies on assets from the mod Techno Mutants, consider endorsing that mod as well. A special thanks to IAmMrKnowbody for the original idea.
Expanded Techno Mutant Encounters is a Fallout 4 faction mod that makes super mutant experiments from Techno Mutants roam the Commonwealth, spreading from the Glowing Sea to occupy various territories. It's for players who want more enemy variety and world integration, though it requires the base Techno Mutants mod.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid download count (9,984) shows real interest in expanding Techno Mutants
- Ties into the Glowing Sea lore, making encounters feel natural
- Small but active community (49 endorsements) for a niche faction mod
⚠️ Cons
- Requires the Techno Mutants mod, so it's not standalone
- Description is cut off, leaving exact spawn locations unclear
- Last updated in 2023, so may not be compatible with newer Fallout 4 patches
For Fallout 4 players who already use Techno Mutants and want those enemies to appear beyond the Glowing Sea. If you're looking for a standalone enemy overhaul, skip this unless you grab the base mod first.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have the Techno Mutants mod installed first, or this mod won't work.
- Use a mod manager like Vortex to handle load order, placing this after Techno Mutants.
- Check the mod page for any patches if you use other faction overhauls that touch the Glowing Sea.
