📋 About This Mod
Why? Hey guys, today I lost Paladin Danse on Spectacle Island. It was pretty frustrating since he was supposed to bring back a good haul (I needed him to leave for the lone wanderer perk to kick in). Anyways, I searched for him for a good while, even scoping in VATS around the island hoping I'd find him with no luck. He also did not come when I sounded the siren. Surely I'm not the only one who runs into this issue, so I whipped up a solution: Companion Tracker.
How do I use it?
In the chemistry station, under utilities, craft the Companion Tracker holotape.
Once crafted, go to the Misc section of your inventory, it should be located by the bottom. Play the holotape.
You can now choose to select a custom group or simply track all companions.
Select the Companion Tracker quest so the markers become visible on your map.
How does "Other Companions" work?
Companions that come from mods need to be added to the "HasBeenCompanionFaction" after their initial recruitment by the player in order to be compatible with this feature.
I will not add support for other people's mods. If they were copying how Bethesda handles companions then they should already be doing this. Kindly ask them to do so if they have not. :)
Please note the following:
-
[]
The holotape will only track vanilla companions.
[]The holotape will only display available companions and will show more as you unlock new companions.
[]The holotape can be dropped, you can always create another holotape at the chemistry station workbench as needed.
[]If you create another automatron or recruit another custom companion, you will need to stop tracking them and then re-track them for the new members to appear as tracked.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 2,221 endorsements and over 112k downloads—clearly a go-to for many players.
- Does exactly what it says: helps you find your companions without any bloat.
- Last updated in 2023, so it's relatively recent and likely compatible with current game versions.
⚠️ Cons
- Limited to a single function; if you're looking for more companion management tools, this won't cover it.
- No mention of compatibility with other mods or game versions, so you might need to test it yourself.
For players who constantly lose track of their followers and want a no-fuss solution. If you're a completionist or roleplayer with multiple companions, this saves you the headache of searching every corner. Skip if you need advanced companion management—this is purely a locator.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Check if the mod requires a script extender or other framework—if not, it's likely a simple drop-in.
- If you're using a mod manager, install it through that to keep your load order clean.
- Test it with your current save to ensure it doesn't conflict with other companion mods you have.
