Companion Status Enhanced

:: WHAT IS IT?

A HUD mod that shows the status of your companions.

Companion Status Enhanced is based on the wonderful Companion Status HUD by registrator2000, and inspired by the beautification options of Companion Status UI Remastered by Tooun.

This takes those ideas and expands them, adding customizability, custom icon support, and a tracking system to locate injured and downed companions on the battlefield.

:: HOW TO USE?

Shortly after installing, assuming you have a companion, a status section should appear for them in the top-right. This will react to them taking damage and using AP. It also has default tracking for Stimpaks and Grenades.

If it's a character that a portrait icon is available for, that will be displayed as well - otherwise a default Vault Boy icon will show in place of their portrait. (See Miscellaneous Files for a tutorial on adding custom portrait icons to CSE!)

Customizing HUD

You can customize where the HUD appears, whether or not to display the portraits, the scale, and when the HUD displays in the CSE Holotape, which can be crafted at a Chemistry Workbench. These controls, and some hotkey position/scale controls are available for MCM users.

Tracking System

Included in the holotape are tracking options. These will enable a quest that can track your companions with objective markers under several conditions, such as only when they are downed and need a Stimpak.

Colored Portraits

To get color portraits, change your HUD color to white. You can do this under Settings > Display and then shifting the three HUD Color sliders all the way to the right.

:: SIM SETTLEMENTS 2 SUPPORT

CSE includes custom icons for most characters in the game from Sim Settlements 2.

For SS2 players engaged in the Assault mechanics introduced in Chapter 3, this will automatically hook in and display the soldiers once the assault begins, even though they aren't technically companions. Combined with the Tracking System of CSE, this is a great way to find and Stimpak your team.

:: KNOWN ISSUES

If you hover over an item that would be stealing, the CSE hud elements may end up with a red tint. This is because HUD Framework attaches itself to the crosshair in some circumstances, and so anything that changes the crosshair color impacts everything attached to it. This is not something we can address.
