📋 About This Mod
I don't usually like putting "better" in the title of my mods since whether or not something is "better" is usually subjective, but I think this one qualifies as objectively better this time.
This mod changes issue #5 of the Wasteland Survival Guide to give you +5% XP for discovering locations, something that I think would be more handy to get early in the game than just marking Diamond City.
It also fixes a consistency error where issue #1 would not say "You've collected an issue of the Wasteland Survival Guide!" in the description upon picking it up, as well as rephrasing the perk itself to say "Permanently heal +50% more from fruits and vegetables" like the other issues instead of just "Heal 50% more from fruits and vegetables".
A tiny Fallout 4 perk fix that changes the Wasteland Survival Guide issue #5 bonus from marking Diamond City to granting +5% XP for discovering locations. For players who want a more useful early-game perk reward. Small niche mod with 188 endorsements.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Turns a useless perk reward into something that actually helps you level up (188 endorsements).
- Simple, focused change—no bloat, just the one fix.
- Popular enough to show it works (5,761 downloads).
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects one perk issue, so if you wanted more survival guide changes, this isn't it.
- May conflict with other mods that alter the same perk or quest rewards.
- Last updated in March 2024—might not be compatible with the latest game patches.
For Fallout 4 players who hate that the survival guide just marks Diamond City and want a small XP boost instead. Skip if you're looking for a comprehensive perk overhaul—this is a single, surgical tweak.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're using a mod manager like Vortex, just drop the file in and enable it—no load order fuss.
- Make sure you grab the guide in-game before expecting the XP bonus to kick in.
- If you have other perk mods, check for conflicts in the load order to avoid the change being overwritten.
