📋 About This Mod
Away From It All A. K. A. "The Pond"
Hello Again !!!
I have something special this time.....
This is for those that just want to get "away from it all "...
My inspiration for this mod/location was my childhood memories of school trips to
Pioneer villages...
You can find many of these "villages" all over north America that are wonderful to visit especially if you want to learn how the first "pioneers" lived .
Boston has one too at Salem...(so this isnt that far from "lore friendly" ).
Now about this mod ....
My main concern was keeping it as low tech as possible.
This means that the only thing electric you will find are the Radio beacon which has been replaced with a low tech antenna tower and the water powered gen that feeds a motor for the purifier which again is replaced by a water tower.
All lights are oil lamps which in my opinion really add to the whole concept and atmosphere.(its magical at night..seriously).
Just in case you DO want to add lights ive added a wireless power transmitter as usual where the gen is so you dont make the place look like crap with the wires.. ;)
All buildings are made by hand strictly with resources found in the game, meaning no prefabs of any kind aside from a few roofs and floors that i had to use .
Im not going to get into how many or what buildings you will find because that will spoil the fun.
The jobs you will find ready to assign are:
3 food/bar counters ( the Bar has a mat ).
4 Guard posts on the 2 watch towers and the sheriffs building.
2 vendor stalls
and plenty of crops...
Here i Strongly suggest the mod by Northland diggers that has many jobs suited for this location.
Also a MUST is Ethreon's "cabin in the woods" mod that has all you need to add to this location without changing the concept.
In the build menu you will find:
A set of chairs and table made for this mod
A wooden bench
A wooden bar stool
A single wooden bed
A skeleton bunk bed that needs mattresses (since the bunk doesnt have snap points simply place a sleeping bag on top then use console to sink it (Z -70) and then place the second sleeping bag where the first one was This way you have a bunk with 2 occupants at the same time)
A new all wood caravan hitching post to match the location but would look great anywhere.(resources/misc)
Finally a watch tower that simply needs a guard marker of your choice...(wood/prefabs )
Ive decorated as less as possible to allow your personal touches as usual...
This mod has its own precombined geometry and precombined visibility so make sure it loads after any mods that may conflict.(performance is great and never dropped below 75fps where im capped)
A compact new settlement mod for Fallout 4, built on a Pioneer village concept. Adds a single new location for players seeking a themed build site. With 387 endorsements and 5,241 downloads, it's a modestly popular addition for settlement enthusiasts.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community backing with 387 endorsements and over 5k downloads.
- Fits a niche for players who want a rustic, pioneer-style settlement.
- Lightweight addition that doesn't overhaul the game—just adds a new spot.
⚠️ Cons
- Only one new location—if you're after a full settlement overhaul, this won't cut it.
- Last updated in May 2022, so it might not be fully compatible with the latest game patches.
- Potential conflicts with other mods that alter the same area or add settlements nearby.
For Fallout 4 settlement builders who want a fresh, themed location to call home. If you're into pioneer aesthetics and need a new canvas, this is a solid pick. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes or a massive content pack—this is purely a new build site.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a new settlement, make sure you've cleared the area of any enemies before building.
- Use the workshop mode to claim the settlement—if it doesn't show up, check your load order and ensure the mod is active.
- If you're on PC, consider using a mod manager to keep track of this and other settlement mods.
