About this mod:
A simple mod that lets you allow your Settlers to wander freely (sandbox) in their Settlement during the day without them decreasing the Settlement's Happiness.
By allowing a Settler to loiter, they'll get "virtually assigned": you'll see the green "assigned" icon next to their name in Workshop Mode. So, while they technically "assigned", they won't actually work. They'll sandbox in the settlement area.
Originally, I made this mod for dismissed Companions and Settlers who were sent to Player Homes. Since these "settlements" don't have any work objects, they couldn't be assigned which made them unhappy. This mod can be used for any Settlement though, there are no limiations.
Legitimate Loitering for Settlers Holotape:
In this Holotape, you can manage every unassigned and loitering Settler. See holotape functions below. Additional holotapes can be crafted at any Chemistry Workbench (Utility section).
Main menu. Global functions: applies to every Settler.
- Show / Hide loitering Settlers: shows / hides loitiering Settlers on / from your Pip-Boy's Map.
- Disallow loitering for every Settler: basically, the mod gets "turned off".
- Add / Remove the Activate Button (the one that can be used for allowing / disallowing loitering for Settlers).
- Manage this Settlement only (visible only if you're in a Settlement. Opens the Settlement menu.)
Settlement menu. Settlement exclusive functions: applies to the Settlers of the Settlement you're currently at. Visible only if you're at a Settlement.
- Allow loitering for unassigned Settlers only: Settlers get unassigned from their current job, then they'll start wandering in the settlement area.
- Disallow loitering for Settlers: basically, the mod gets turned off for the Settlers of this Settlement.
- Auto-assign unassigned Settlers: utility function that auto-assignes unassigned Settlers to available workshop resource objects.
- Show / Hide unassigned Settlers: shows / hides unassigned Settlers on / from your Pip-Boy's Map.
- Count unassigned Settlers: it displays how many unassigned Settlers the Settlement has.
- Unassign Settlers: "bulk unassign" every Settler from their current job.
