📋 About This Mod

True Crouching

Ports JazzIsParis' fix for a longstanding Bethesda games' bug where the dimensions of the collision bounding box encapsulating the player (as well as all NPCs) remained fixed and did not scale to correspond to body posture. This, effectively, had made it impossible to crawl through breaches and spaces when crouched, despite being able to easily fit through them.

No esp, no running scripts and no performance impact.

Installation

Use Mod Organizer 2/Nexus Mod Manager/FOMM, or manually extract the .zip file into your Fallout 3 'Data' folder.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community-approved with 676 endorsements and over 13k downloads.
  • No ESP means it won't clutter your load order.
  • Simple, focused fix that does exactly what it says.

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2019 — may not be compatible with the latest Fallout 4 updates.
  • Requires FOSE, which adds an extra dependency.
  • Only affects collision while sneaking; no other gameplay tweaks.
🎯 Is This For You?
For stealth players who hate getting stuck on geometry when trying to squeeze through gaps. Also for modders who want a clean, no-ESP solution. Skip if you want broader gameplay changes — this is a single-purpose utility.
📦 Install:Medium· 5-10 minutes

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure FOSE is installed and you launch the game through f4se_loader.exe, not the default launcher.
  • Since it's a plugin, place it in your Data folder and enable it in your mod manager if needed.
  • Test in a tight corridor to see the collision change — you'll notice you can slip through smaller gaps.
