📋 About This Mod

Slower Backpedaling Author: Lork 01/29/09 Based on a request by signofzeta \"Run or shoot?\" - The eternal question posed by the great philosopher Louis. Do we run away from life\'s problems, or face them head on (with the help of high caliber bullets)? Members of the school of Bill contend that the answer is \"Both\". That there\'s no need to choose; one must simply run backwards while shooting to gain all the benefits of both. I reject that answer... This mod decreases your speed when running backwards, so now you can\'t just run away at top speed while shooting that deathclaw. You have to pick one or the other, and live with the consequences. Much needed tactical depth, or tedious, unnecessary realism? You be the judge. The degree to which your speed is reduced is customizable - see the readme.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

Slower Backpedaling reduces your movement speed when running backwards in Fallout 3, preventing you from kiting enemies at full speed while shooting. This adds tactical depth by forcing you to choose between retreating and firing. A simple gameplay tweak with 312 endorsements, last updated in 2009.

🎯 Is This For You?
For Fallout 3 players who want more challenging, tactical combat and hate kiting enemies at full speed. If you're a purist who enjoys making every fight a risk/reward decision, this is for you. Skip if you prefer fast-paced, arcade-style movement or don't want to alter core mechanics.
