📋 About This Mod
I know this has been done before, but I did this for myself a long time ago, just decided to clean it up and finish it, figured I'd share it.
>>>>>Ver. 1. 02: fixed texture paths for the initiate helmet courtesy of scoobyFO3, if you were having issues before it should be resolved.
>>>>>Ver. 1. 01: Added the T-51b to Star Paladin Cross, if you use a companion mod this won't really matter.
Ranked Brotherhood Armor
---What does it do?---
Makes so each rank within the Brotherhood of Steel has different armor.
---How do I install?---
Like any other mod, dump the Meshes and Textures folders and .esp into your Data folder, check it in the Mod Manager or launcher, play, find a BoS member of appropriate rank. Remember, THIS WILL OVERRIDE ANY OTHER MODS THAT MODIFY THE BROTHERHOOD MEMBERS, unless you manually merge them.
---Notes---
-all initiates in combat zones (not those in the citadel) now wear a Brotherhood specific combat armor and helmet.
-all Brotherhood Paladins now wear a Brotherhood version of the T-51b Power Armor (except in Broken Steel areas, working on that).
-Paladins in the Arlington Library have been renamed to Knights...because thats how I felt like doing it (they're all generic).
---To Do---
Test Broken Steel patch
><><><>< Tested, some issues fixed by scoobyFO3.
---Credits---
-Bethesda for the original textures, the GECK, and of course for Fallout 3
-me (jkruse05) - editing existing textures, GECK work
-the makers of NifSkope, Gimp, the Gimp .dds scripts, and the Fallout 3 Archive Utility, wouldn't have happened without them.
-Feel free to use the content in your own mods, I just ask that you let me know, and give me credit for it.
If you encounter ANY problems let me know.
Donations:
I have made the decision to both enable direct donations on most of my files as well as register many of them for the donation points program. Because transparency is important to me, I want anyone interested in donating to know where their money is going. Currently, most donation money will be going toward basic monthly bills. I'm currently working two jobs to pay everything while I look for a full time career. In the future, when such donations are no longer needed for basics, I intend to invest in, at least, Substance Painter to improve my mods. If it is feasible I would also like to get 3ds Max, but they way payments work for that program may turn me away. This would allow me to learn animation and make more interesting mods. Currently my mods are made 100% with free programs. Textures are made using free stock textures and GIMP, while meshes are made in Blender, using community tools to get the right formats.
This mod assigns distinct armor sets to Brotherhood of Steel members based on their in-game rank, adding visual clarity and lore-friendly differentiation. It's a lightweight, purely cosmetic addition for Fallout 3 players who want to identify faction hierarchy at a glance. With 128 endorsements and last updated in 2010, it remains a niche but functional choice for classic game modding.
