📋 About This Mod

GLOWING ITEMS V2

The control terminal is outside of Megaton next to the burnt out car. activate it and click the first option to get the glasses for the first time or anytime you lose them. the second option gives you a remote configuration item. it will let you change the settings without going to the terminal. go through each item type and turn the ones you want to glow, on. After that select the color for the item. you can choose a bright or dim glow for each item, bright is the default setting.

Future plans. If I figure out how to. only items that are not owned will glow.

The latest version of FOSE is required for V2.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

Glowing items is a small cosmetic mod for Fallout 4 that makes various loot items emit a glow, making them easier to spot in the wasteland. It covers common items like bobby pins, caps, skill books, first aid kits, bobbleheads, tin cans, whiskey, purified water, mines, chems, and health items. With 283 endorsements and over 11,000 downloads, it's a popular quality-of-life tweak for players who struggle to find loot.

✨ Key Features

Adds a glow effect to bobby pins, caps, skill books, first aid kits, bobbleheads, tin cans, whiskey, and purified water.
Covers all mine types: bottlecap, plasma, frag, pulse, and cryo.
Includes chems like Jet, Buffout, and Mentats, plus health items Radaway and Rad-X.
Simple visual enhancement with no gameplay changes.
Last updated in 2015, but still functional for the base game.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community-approved with 283 endorsements and over 11,000 downloads—clearly a mod people trust.
  • Makes scavenging way less tedious—no more squinting at dark corners for that last bobby pin.
  • Covers a solid list of essential loot, so you'll actually notice the difference in regular play.

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2015—might not play nice with newer DLC or the next-gen update, so test before relying on it.
  • Only affects the listed items—if you want glowing ammo or junk, this mod won't help.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Fallout 4 players who hate missing loot in dark interiors or cluttered environments. If you're a completionist who wants to grab every cap and chem without a headache, this is a no-brainer. Skip it if you're looking for gameplay overhauls—this is purely a visual convenience.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since it's a texture/model mod, just drop the files into your Data folder and enable it in your load order—no F4SE needed.
  • If you use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, install it through that to keep your load order clean and avoid conflicts.
  • Check if the glow is too bright for your taste—if so, look for a config or alternative version, but this mod doesn't offer one.
