📋 About This Mod

Flora mod which focuses primarily on adding douglas firs to the DC wasteland. Aims to be somehwhere between beautifying the world while retaining a bleak dead look. Replaces all trees with douglas fir counterparts, and provides a modest retexture to vanilla hardwood trees. Straight mesh replacer and compatible with TTW out of the box.

Simply drag and drop the contents of the mod into your games "Data" folder, and activate with the mod manager of your choice. Alternatively, install directly through Mod Organizer 2. You will need to regenerate your LOD with whichever LOD utility you see fit. I recommend xLodGen. If you want an older fork of xLodGen available on Nexus, use FO3LODGen. You will require the resources from FO3LODGen regardless of which software you use.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community-approved with 798 endorsements and over 169k downloads.
  • Fills a niche for players who want a grittier, more hopeless wasteland aesthetic.
  • Lightweight mod that doesn't aim for realism, so it won't clash with other overhauls.

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in January 2023 — may not be compatible with the latest game patches.
  • Not for players who want lush, vibrant flora — this mod makes the world look dead.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Fallout 4 players who want a more desolate, post-apocalyptic atmosphere without overhauling the entire game. Skip if you prefer green, overgrown wastelands or want a full flora overhaul with new plants.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since this mod only replaces textures, it's safe to install with a mod manager like Vortex or NMM.
  • Check if you have other flora mods installed — this one may conflict if they edit the same files.
  • If you're using an ENB, test in different weathers to see how the dead plants look under various lighting.
