📋 About This Mod

The Cannibal Perk is... mildly useful, I will admit.  If you need a quick pick-me-up of health, say after a fight where you killed a bunch of people, you can always feed from their bodies.  The karma cost is minimal, and it's rare anyone actually sees you.  Unfortunately, that's about all the Cannibal perk does, making it a bit weak for a Level 12 perk.  Wouldn't it be nice if it did more?

Well, inspired by my similar Cannibal Plus mod for New Vegas, I decided to fix some of that.

THE CHANGES

First, Cannibals receive more health from Human Flesh (+60% to 40HP), Strange Meat (+100% to 10HP), and Strange Meat Pies (+200% to 15HP).  The health increases also work with the Food Sanitizer, maxing out at 48HP, 12HP, and 18HP respectively.

Secnondly, there are two new abilities which Cannibals can acquire: Takeout and Harvest Mutilated Body Parts.  Both are acquired as a reward for consuming a certain number of bodies total (the "Corpses Eaten" stat).

At 25 Corpses Eaten, the Lone Wanderer gets the Takeout ability.  This lets you pull a piece of Human Flesh from the body of a human or non-feral ghoul for later use, rather than eating them then and there.  This marks the body as eaten, so you can't Devour a corpse after using Takeout to grab a piece of it.  It will also increase your "Corpses Eaten" stat.

At 40 Corpses Eaten, the Lone Wanderer gains the Harvest Mutilated Body Parts ability.  This, as the name indicates, lets you harvest useable Human Flesh from the various Mutilated body parts scattered around the Wasteland, especially in the Gore Bags kept by Super Mutants.  Body parts are worth a varying amount of Human Flesh: Arms are worth 1, Legs 3, Torsos and Organs 2.  This ability can be activated by using a special item found in the Aid menu, uncreatively named "".

Currently the menu for harvesting body parts may take multiple clicks to close.  I'm not sure why this happens - code-wise, it shouldn't - but it is at least FAR less frequent than it was when I first made the menu.  You should rarely, if ever, run into the problem, but be aware that it can happen.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community-tested with 187 endorsements and over 7,000 downloads—solid for a niche gameplay tweak.
  • Fills a real gap for cannibal characters who want more utility from their diet.
  • Simple concept that directly enhances the cannibal playstyle without overhauling the game.

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2014—may have compatibility issues with modern mod setups or DLC.
  • Only affects cannibal-specific mechanics, so it's useless if you don't play that way.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Fallout: New Vegas players who enjoy cannibal role-playing and want more mechanical depth from the perk. If you're not into eating people in-game, this mod offers nothing for you.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure you have the Cannibal perk before expecting any changes—this mod only affects that playstyle.
  • If you're using a mod manager, just drop the files in; otherwise, place them in your Data folder and activate the .esp in your load order.
  • Since it's an older mod, test it early in your playthrough to catch any conflicts with other gameplay mods.
