📋 About This Mod
This mod originated in New Vegas, and I simply made my own version for Fallout 3. I also found that nobody else had created this mod for FO3. This is only an esp file that increases the distance at which you can see the dust/blood/sparks that your bullets create. Little things like this make the game more immersive, in my opinion.
The original was made by Snowyman at http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35591 - all credit goes to him for figuring this out.
Install by placing the esp in the Data folder then activating it in FOMM/NMM/Data files in the launcher. Does not require anything but FO3.
This mod increases the distance at which bullet impact effects (dust, blood) are visible in Skyrim, addressing a common immersion issue. It's a simple fix for players who want to see their shots land at range. With 364 endorsements and 7,407 downloads, it's a well-received utility mod.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 364 endorsements and over 7,000 downloads.
- Fixes a specific immersion-breaking issue that many players notice.
- Lightweight and likely easy to install—just drop it in your Data folder.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2012—may not be compatible with the latest Skyrim versions or DLCs without patches.
- Only addresses bullet impact LOD; other visual or gameplay issues remain untouched.
For Skyrim players who are bothered by invisible bullet impacts at range and want a quick fix. If you're a stealth archer or gunslinger (via mods) who values seeing every hit, this is for you. Skip if you're on the latest game version and wary of outdated mods.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since the mod is from 2012, check if you're using Skyrim Special Edition or Anniversary Edition—it may need a compatibility patch or manual tweaking.
- Install manually by placing the file in your Skyrim Data folder, or use a mod manager like Vortex or Mod Organizer 2 for easier management.
- If you're using other visual overhaul mods, test this mod early in your load order to ensure it doesn't conflict with impact effect mods.
