Electric DAF

The old description is no longer valid. SCS decided to publish their own electric DAF. Almost perfect. It just lacks a lot of configuration options, which is understandable. Since it was never meant to be owned. Anyway. I took that, and made it available to own. Instead of only being available in quick jobs.

I also added 1 new engine choice and 2 extra gearboxes. Nothing silly, all realistic. But with one exception; I wanted this DAF to be better than the Volvo and even the new Scania, which lacks 10 horsepower compared to Volvo. So this new DAF has a 800 hp (588 Kw) option, 20 above the Volvo even. But nothing you will really feel, compared to Volvo or Scania. But it does make this DAF a nice late-game option that can compete with the rest.

This time, I just changed the engine to be "diesel". So you can just drive and refuel like normal. But the engine "is electric" (the sound). Don't worry about it. Just download it and try, you will see. I love it.

- The goal was to have a truck-brand which I like (booo Renault!)

- Having an electric engine and gearbox

- Which is also fully ownable. So not just for quick missions, like the Renault now.

- And an engine as strong as the 780 horsepower Volvo, of course.

The solution:

- The DAF chassis options for this modded truck all got a big battery in them, so you can drive many jobs before it depletes.

- You cannot recharge it at normal gas stations, but...

- You can swap the engine for a diesel engine that is also available when you go configure the truck

- After the diesel engine is put in, drive to a gas station and fill her up to the top

- Drive back to the maintenance shop, and swap back in the electric engine

- Boom! You now have a fully recharged battery again! (huge capacity)

The future:

- When the game later gets electric recharging, it can all be edited to have more realistic battery capacities, and of course you won't have to swap engines to recharge by then.

- But they! For now you got a cool electric 2021 DAF NG+ that you can own and keep using!

Final notes:

- The tank and/or battery (same thing in the game code) is now 88. 960 KWh (or 88. 960 liter, if you change to the diesel engine temporarily, to refuel).

- I changed all chassis and accessory tanks (batteries) to have that same exact capacity.

- It might take a while to fill her up, if you ran it fully empty. But then again, you have not refueled for ages by then, so it is fair.

- I chose this huge capacity instead of a realistic one, so you do not have to swap engines too much and go refuel. That could be annoying.

- Trucks can have only one engine sound. So even the diesel has the electric sound, when you temporarily swap to it.

- For now the paint options/colors are a bit limited. I was too lazy to copy them all over, thus far. Maybe later.
