custom gearbox layouts for H shifters like SHHTH8 and more

This mod adds custom gearbox layouts, only the layout, not the gearboxes. You have to select a gearbox in the truck configurator to match the amount of gears stated in each layout .

With these layouts you can use the full 7R pattern of TH8s, TH8a, Thorn, Hubb and other 7R shifters. It will "remove" the not needed (subjective, I know) gears is between while keeping the rpm differences between them small enough to work, big enough to make a good difference.

I am not a truck driver, but a manual car driver, I build the layouts that way, so I can shift gears intuitively, without needing to split or use the range selector or skipping a lot of gears. It is not aimed to be realistic, the purpose is a little bit of QOL if you have an H shifter without a truck knob on it.

Shifting in this layout works in 99,99% of the roads If you have the right HP engine versus cargo weight

In the 0. 01% situation that you are stuck with heavy cargo needing to get rolling on a steep hill you can switch to the backup (low) range using the range selector to get a lot lower and closer gear ratio close to each other, as well the slower R1 reverse. After using that lower range to get going again, you can go back to the normal (high) range starting at the 3rd gear slot.

The layouts were tested with heavy cargo , for example a Mercedes Actros MP4 4x6 with a 625HP engine while pulling a 60. 000kg heavy cargo. The numbers are the ingame gears assigned to each shifter.

Normal Range: 4,8,11,13,14,15,16,R2

Backup range:1,3,5,7,8,9,10 R1

14F+2R (Scania S2016+R2012, Volvo FH4 and more)

Normal range: 4,8,10,11,12,13,14,R2

Backup range: 1,3,5,6,7,8,9,R1

13F+2R (ATS Eaton 13+2 and more)

Normal range: 3,7,9,10,11,12,13,R2

Backup range: 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,R1

You can see in your dashboard which range you have selected, as the low-range is using the letter "L" in the gears.

Can you use them on all the trucks?

Yes, I theory, if the amount of gears is equal to the layout you choose you can use it.

How to install?

1. First you need to assign the 7th slot of your shifter, as is explained here: https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=299880

2. Copy the *.sii files to the same folder as used in step 1.

3. In the game, go to settings -> controls and select the shifter layout you wanted. Using manual with clutch and range+splitter (default). You also need to have a key/button assigned to us the range in case you are needing it.
