📋 About This Mod
Adds a new talisman in Gift / Keepsake at character creation and Kalé's shop, called Eternal Woe. You take no damage, but also don't deal any damage, also FP consumption is 0.
Disturbing likeness of a creature perpetually locked in undeath.
The facial features are almost irrecognizable beneath a mass of putrid skin and open wounds.
Takes no damage, deals no damage, no FP is consumed.
It is said that one individual among Those Who Live in Death could not be purged by the Golden Order or either be sustained by the deathroot curse. Unable to die, unable to kill, lingering in perpetual agony.
Created this talisman as a lore-friendly way to cheat practice fights. When you are done, simply remove the talisman from equipment and be ready to fight for real.
Installation
Download and extract the contents of this mod to any place of your choice. Then:
- With no other mods: copy/cut the "menu "and "msg" folders and the regulation.bin file into the "mods" folder of ModEngine2.
- If you are playing with other mods:
- - merge the .csv files from the "exported csv" folder into your regulation.bin using Smithbox.
- - import all fields to CharaInitParam, CharMakeMenuListItemParam, EquipParamAccessory, ShopLineupParam and SpEffectParam params, respectively. To learn how to do this, I followed the last portion of this guide.
- - then, either copy/cut the "menu "and "msg" folders into the "mods" folder of ModEngine2 or merge them with the existing ones. The process of unpacking and merging those is way more involved than just merging parans to the regulation.bin file, so I advise you to look at a video tutorial. This playlist helped me through the process.
- - you could still use the talisman if you just merge the params into your regulation.bin, the functionallity is all in those params. The only caveat is you'll have empty icons and placeholder texts.
Compatibility
As usual, only compatible with other ModEngine mods if merged using a tool like Smithbox or the old DSMapStudio (before SotE), since there can only be one regulation.bin file.
Also, this mod makes changes to this files:
- /menu/hi/01_common.sblytbnd.dcx (SB_Icon_06.layout and SB_Status_00.layout)
- /menu/hi/01_common.tpf.dcx (SB_Icon_06.dds and SB_Status_00.dds)
- /msg/engus/item_dlc02.msgbnd.dcx (Item Text/Rings, ID: 6111)
- /msg/engus/menu_dlc02.msgbnd.dcx (Menu Text/MenuText, ID 297190 and Menu Text/Line Help, ID: 297190)
So if you are using other mod that also makes changes to any of those files, simply copying this mod into ModEngine2 will override the previous ones and may break your gameplay.
Notes
- Yes, the large image is missing from the inspection menu. Adding the repackaged images to this mod would make this weight 1,30 GB, which is insane. The smaller image and the icon were added to smaller .dcx files, I think it's a nice compromise.
- As mentioned above, if you don't want or don't know how to merge packed dat
