Cutom Tattoo Tutorial

These are the steps I followed to produce the included example. As I have little experience and even less educational background, they're probably neither optimal nor generalizable. I'm releasing this now in hope one of you will know how to do it right. If so, please comment!

• []Unpack with UXM.

  []In game, find the number of the tattoo you want to customize; in the example, it's 37.

  []In your parts folder, decompress the corresponding fg_a_60xx.partsbnd.dcx and (eventually) tpf file with Yabber; in the example, it's fg_a_6037.partsbnd.dcx. HonorKnight26's Elden Ring Recolor Guide and Tutorial provides clear, step-by-step instructions on how to do this.

  []As in HonorKnight26's tutorial, open your fg_n_60xx.dds file as DDS NVIDIA Texture Tools Exporter with your image editing app (in the example, I used Photoshop), except, in the box that pops up, check Load Alpha as Channel Instead of Transparency.

  []Edit the alpha and blue channels as desired.

  []Save as Intel Texture works - Texture: Color + Alpha; Compression: none 32bpp; Mips: none.

  []Recompress with Yabber.

  []After backing up your original dcx file, replace it with your new one. (Yabber helpfully backs this up, so if you forget, copy or rename the backup file it creates.)

  []Patch with UXM.

  []In game, apply cosmetics, selecting the original tattoo and number (in the menu, the image is not replaced with your new one). Tweak as desired and finish applying cosmetics.
