📋 About This Mod
Carefully crafted Reshade preset that creates a bleak/gloomy atmosphere.
Adjusted tonemap, color grading and lighting without messing up brightness or contrast.
Shaders
-
[]AmbientLight.fx -- subtle bloom-like effect, most notable on light sources[/]
[]Colourfulness.fx -- oversaturates the image in a certain way, so the other shaders can "build upon it"[/]
[]FakeHDR.fx -- HDR-like effect, deepens shadows and brightens lights[/]
[]RadiantGI.fx -- (optional, turn off if it hurts your FPS or causes flickering on your setup)[/]
[]PD80_04_Color_Balance.fx -- subtle changes to shadows, midtones & highlights[/]
[]Technicolor2.fx -- de-saturates the image, changes color tones[/]
[]Tonemap.fx -- adjusts tonemap[/]
[]Vibrance.fx -- brings some of the color out again[/]
[]Deband.fx -- reduces banding effects / lines on the sky[/]
[]CAS.fx -- subtle contrast sharpening to offset some of the game's blur[/]
Installation
-
[]Download Reshade and start the installer:[/]
[](1) Select Elden Ring and click Next.[/]
[](2) Leave DirectX 10/11/12 checked and click Next.[/]
[](3) Click on Browse next to the bar on the bottom and select my BLEAK.ini - this automatically installs the correct shaders.[/]
[]Done.[/]
-
[]Make a copy of your reshade-shaders folder outside the game directory (just in case).[/]
[]Start the Reshade installer, but select Update Reshade and Effects. Select my BLEAK.ini during the installation.[/]
[]Optional: If this somehow messed up shaders from your other Reshade presets, copy and paste your reshade-shaders backup folder back into the game directory. Hit Yes if asked to overwrite.[/]
Performance
It has no noticable impact on my system (less than 1 fps) without RTGI enabled, and I lose about 1-2 FPS with RTGI enabled.
If for some reason you can't run this preset with all the shaders enabled (except: RTGI, CAS), it's better to use an entirely different one.
The shaders have been intentionally layered & tweaked like this, and the image will look completely off if you randomly disable some.
Recommended Mods (not required)
- Force Dynamic Shadows Reborn (FDSR) - I'm only using the Point Light/Shadow changes
- Additional Visual Options - ONLY the optional file: RTAO Only with Soft Rasterised Shadows
