Afghanistan Campaign part 3 - The Final Offensive [Mission]

This is the final act. No desperate street fight, no ambush from the ruins—now, the war machine takes over. I see the airfield ahead. Heat shimmers over the asphalt, smoke and sand swirl through the air as our tanks advance. Each one a towering beast of steel, each shot a verdict. The ground trembles beneath the tracks as the defensive line forms. They know we are coming. They know this is the end. But they stand their ground. The sky is raging. I hear the shriek of jets above me, the roar of engines, the dull thud of an explosion somewhere close by. Two fighters spiral in a deadly dance, searching for the perfect shot—no second chances. A radio transmission, a missile cutting through the sky, and a burning aircraft falls into the desert. The front shatters. Tank shells slam into barricades, hangars erupt into flames. I move through the wreckage, feeling the heat of the fires, the thick smoke swallowing my vision. I hear the cries over the radio, the chaos of the final battle. This is no ordinary fight. It is the last strike, the final collapse. Then, silence. Engines keep running. Tanks stand between the burning ruins. The air is thick with ash and smoke. And yet—it is over. The last defenders have vanished. The battle is won. I stare at the smoldering remains of the battlefield, exhale sharply, and mutter, “Almost felt like a fair fight—almost.” But the desert remembers.
