Bub's Map Editor Resources

This mod offers resources and pipeline to open Villedor, Prologue, Opera and Tower Raid in Developer Tools map editor.

I upload this as-is for experienced modders and map makers who want to reverse engineer or inspect the level design aspects of the main game.

It means if you have no experience in modding or devtools, please move on, as this is not for you.

Map and game version 1. 17. 2, added Tower Raid map

How to install:

1. Extract bub-editor.zip to devtool project root folder C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dying Light 2\DevTools\projects\local

2. (Optional, recommended) Locate C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dying Light 2\ph\work\data_platform\pc\assets

Duplicate city_pc.rpack and rename it to common_textures_1_pc.rpack

Duplicate prologue_pc.rpack and rename it to common_textures_2_pc.rpack

In editor:

1. Launch DL2 Developer Tools and open project Gamemap2024_new

2. Open bubprologue.map, bubdlc_opera.map, bubcity.map or bubtower_raid.map

3. In editor, set Spawner LOD multiplier and Mesh LOD multiplier to 1. 2 and enable Dissolve (see gamemap.pdf for more info)

FAQ:

Can I edit game map?

Yes if you know what you're doing. You dont necessarily even need map editor, but it certainly helps

Can you make tutorial?

No, its too wide subject. Download some my mods (metro, airship, gun stash & base building) and check how I have done it.

Can my PC open maps?

If you can run DL2 and Devtools you're good. Just go easy with view distance settings if you have low-end PC.
