📋 About This Mod
Reworks the icons of the 4 Arisen-only vocations, putting some order in the colour scheme.
Why this mod?
Those of you who looked forward to the release of Dragon's Dogma 2 will remember the infamous Vocation Colour Scheme Controversy.
DD1 had an excellent triangular class system, with 3 colours representing its basic archetypes, 3 advanced vocations, and 3 hybrids. It was a compelling, sensical design. Now imagine the sweeping astonishment when we found out that DD2 would imitate the colour language, but very little of the design intention behind it.
DD2 makes a really odd choice. Had it followed the DD1 formula, DD2 would have had a total of 4 basics, 4 advanced, and 6 hybrids. What we actually got was 4 basics, 2 advanced, 2 hybrids, a completely new vocation disguised as a hybrid, and the all-arounder Warfarer. The oddness doesn't necessarily reside with the roster of vocations in itself (although it does err on the strange side), but in its vestigial colour scheme. Any pattern-recognising person would be valid in assuming that, if red+blue and blue+yellow exist, then every basic colour combination should logically follow. Likewise, it would stand to reason that if red advances to dark red, and blue to dark blue, then surely yellow would advance to dark yellow and green to dark green. Well, this simply ended up not being the case, and what followed after these revelations ranged from disappointment to bafflement.
Now, though this doesn't strongly detract from the great game that is DD2, this fake DD1 colour scheme certainly soured the community's opinion of the game, leading players into the wrong expectations regarding vocation variety. This mod is a very simple, personal tweak, attempting to correct said misleading colour scheme by eliminating all two-colour "hybrid" messaging. No more false expectations: each vocation gets its own colour.
Furthermore, the accessibility of each vocation can be understood through the crest surrounding its icon:
[]A simple, squared crest indicates a basic vocation.[/]
[]If the crest is bronze, then it is a vocation that both Pawn and Arisen can access.[/]
[*]A more intricate
