📋 About This Mod

This is a mod heavily inspired by Wild Loot for Dragon's Dogma 2. The goal of this mod is to change and enhance the natural gear progression of the game, allowing every different weapon (and most armor probably) to be found without ever having to interact with a shop.

If you're a true dogma enjoyer™ like myself you may have gotten tired of how the game handles loot distribution on repeat playthroughs. Most of the time if you bother to replay the main game (which I personally enjoy doing some of the time) the typical gear progression is just buy the strongest stuff from Caxton, rush the gold idol, then buy the strongest stuff again. Sometimes you'll find good loot in a chest, but a lot of the games weapons and armor are hidden behind random loot tables that have a 35% chance to give you a jewel of health instead... A bit silly if you ask me. I'm not a fan of buying weapons from merchants, and would much rather exploration be rewarded with good, deterministic loot.

What this mod does

:

Base Game

Every weapon for every vocation has been lovingly and painstakingly hand-placed into the overworld, attempting to keep gear progression well balanced and reward exploring all the nooks and crannies. Generally speaking, good loot is in chests that are either hidden in someway, in a thematically appropriate area, or guarded by overworld monsters. The goal here was not to place weapons in the most obnoxious, out of the way chests constantly, but to find a good mix of spots that encourage interacting with Gransys and plumbing the dungeons throughout. Every weapon is placed deterministically: a chest that contains a weapon has a 100% chance to contain that specific weapon (one particular exemption: warrior weapons are always 50/50 for the longsword or the hammer of the same tier). Armor and clothing as well have been spread out, but I'm not going to pretend I did a flawless job representing every armor piece: there's a lot of armor and a lot of chests to edit. Armor will also always be a random chance out of 3-4 different items, usually of the same relative strength, with equal odds for each item.

Chest models have been edited to represent their contents, though I make NO GUARANTEES that this is completely consistent throughout the whole game. Generally speaking, tier 3 chests (the fancy looking ones) have weapons, tier 2 chests have armor, and tier 1 chests have consumables and other assorted items. If you see a chest that looks out of place, it's probably something good.

Post Game and Everfall

Most of the everfall tier weapons have actually been removed from the everfall
