📋 About This Mod
Like playing as a Mage, but wish you could do that sweet mid-air flip that a Rogue does when they dodge? Look no further!
This mod replaces the Mage's dodge animations with the Rogue's dodge animations. Your Mage Rook will now flip whenever they dodge, but with a Mage twist - they keep the Fade-Step teleport effect for longer dodges, which results in a pretty cool "Fade-Flip" maneuver (you can achieve a basic, non-teleport version of the flip by executing a shorter dodge).
I've tested the animations in game and didn't encounter any problems, but if you run into one, let me know.
Side note: If any NPCs in the game use the same dodge animation set as Rook, they'll likely be affected by this mod.
REQUIREMENTS:
To enable mods for Veilguard, you need the latest version of the Frosty Mod Manager. You can grab it here: https://github.com/wavebend/FrostyToolsuite/releases/
This mod replaces the Mage's dodge animation with the Rogue's flip dodge. It's a simple cosmetic change for players who prefer the Rogue's acrobatic movement. With 78 endorsements and recent updates, it's a niche but functional tweak.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Gives Mages a more agile, rogue-like dodge that feels satisfying.
- Lightweight mod—no extra dependencies or complex setup.
- Active author (updated Dec 2024) with a small but engaged following (78 endorsements).
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects dodge animation—no other changes, so if you wanted more, this isn't it.
- Small mod with limited reach (78 endorsements), so community support is minimal.
- No documentation on compatibility with other animation mods—might conflict if you use those.
For Dragon's Dogma 2 players who play Mage but wish the dodge felt more like the Rogue's flip. If you're a purist who wants the original animations, skip it. This is purely cosmetic and won't change gameplay mechanics.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to back up your original game files before replacing animations, in case you want to revert.
- If you use other animation mods, install this one last to avoid overwriting conflicts.
- Check the mod's page for any specific installation instructions—some animation mods require a mod manager.
