As of December 2024, Veilguard modding is in its infancy. There is no guarantee that mods will work 100% of the time (especially if the game
gets updated) or that they won't cause any issues later down the line.
Proceed with caution.
-
[]There is currently a known bug that seems to affect EBX mods, but not all of them, and not
for all users. The game might crash at the end of the cutscene with
Bellara after recruiting Lucanis. Wavebend is looking into fixing the
issue, so please be patient.[
]You might also experience crashing when loading into or traveling to the Lighthouse with certainmods enabled. In my experience, this happens only in the early game, as I
am consistently able to load saves in the Lighthouse from later in the
game and not get any crashes, even when earlier saves crashed This is
related to the same problem as the Bellara crash, so it should hopefully
be fixed too once the modding tools get updated.
- Fixed in Alpha5v2!
THIS MOD IS FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH SWAP MODS.
It should be compatible unless a mod directly affects the helm mesh CONDITIONS (not the part appearance).
I do not control clipping, please don't ask. Not all helms are impacted, specifically if it has the “full face” condition.
I likely won't take requests, but if someone has a superb idea I might be interested <3
Head Sock Begone removes the unsightly sock from almost all helms in the game, leaving a cleaner look. It's a simple cosmetic fix for players bothered by that detail, though NPCs may be unaffected and clipping is expected.

- Lightweight mod with 111 endorsements and 1,904 downloads
- Straightforward install—just drop it in
⚠️ Cons

For players who obsess over helmet aesthetics and want to ditch that ugly sock. If you're a roleplayer or screenshot enthusiast, this is a quick win. Skip if you want gameplay changes—this is purely cosmetic.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a simple file drop, just place it in your mod manager or data folder and activate it.
- Check your load order—make sure this mod loads after any other helmet mods to ensure the sock is removed.
- If you see clipping, try adjusting your character's head size or use a different helmet variant.
