📋 About This Mod

Increased Difficulty for Experienced Players

The purpose of this mod is to make DA II more difficult. It is meant for experienced players who´d like to be replay the game and be challenged once more. It comes in four flavors: commando, titan, legendary and insanity. Commando increases enemy health and damage values by 25%, titan by 50%, legendary by 75% and insanity by 100%. Pick whichever suits you best and drop it into your override folder. Now, because certain enemies were already very difficult and I wanted to increase the difficulty nonetheless, I had to find a way to even out the difficulty spikes. For this reason I included three optional files. Those will lower the health and damage values of elite enemies, bosses and elite bosses by a specified percentage. I made this mod in such a way that anyone can pick whatever feels right for them. So if you want a moderate increase, for instance, but would like rogues, mages, and any other already-difficult enemy to remain just as difficult as it used to be, comparatively speaking, you can just use the difficulty_commando file, which will increase enemy health and damage values by 25% across the board. If you would like to make the game considerably more difficult but are worried that already challenging fights will be impossible, you may use the difficulty_titan file together with creatureranks_50, which will first increase enemy health and damage values by 50%, but then lower health and damage values of elites, bosses and elite bosses by 50%. If you would like more of a challenge, you may use difficulty_titan together with creatureranks_25, for instance, and so on so forth. I don´t recommend using Legendary or Insanity in the beginning. I personally start new games with difficulty_titan and creatureranks_25, then up the stakes if I feel the game´s become too easy. There is also a folder called Variations, with two new variations to the difficulty.gda file. Strategizer will increase health values by 25% and damage by 50%, field Marshall will increase health values by 50% and damage by 100%. So if you find you´d prefer it if enemies do more damage and have more health, though not quite as much health, use one of these files instead. That is all. Enjoy.
