📋 About This Mod
Anyone else get tired of constantly buying/selling to Mikhail or Herren? Yeah.
The Magic Box is great (and I highly recommend it), but it's only available in the main campaign. :,(
Should work in Origins and all the DLC, and with any scalable item, modded or vanilla.
(non-scalable items include mage robes, and many unique or rare items, unfortunately)
(2. 0) - there can be only one. Combined all the scripts into one, and added a couple new features.
The new command is "rescale", and the syntax is "runscript rescale to ".
items options:
ALL - all items in the backpack or equipped by party members (in camp, this will only affect the PC's equipped items and the backpack)
EQUIPPED - all items equipped by the currently controlled party member
BACKPACK - all items in the backpack
item name or tag - all items matching that name/tag/resref (matches must be exact, including punctuation. Capitalization does not matter. Checks in the backpack and the currently controlled character's equipment)
Choosing a tier is optional. To automatically rescale items to player level, end the command after the .
If you choose to input a tier, all items chosen for rescaling will scale to that level. The tier must be entered as an integer.
Downgrading - if no tier is chosen, higher-level items will not scale down to player level. To downscale an item, you must input a tier.
examples of use:
"runscript rescale equipped" - rescales all the currently selected character's equipped items to the approximate tier for their level
"runscript rescale backpack to 8" - rescales all items in the backpack to tier 8 materials (dragon wing / white steel / vhenadahl)
"runscript rescale shortbow to 6" - rescales an item named "Shortbow" to tier 6 (sylvanwood)
"runscript rescale gen_im_wep_mel_lsw_lsw" - rescales any items using that tag (in this case, the basic longsword) to the approximate tier for player level
Only the .ncs file needs to go into the override; the .nss is just included for the curious.
Limitations--
Items with runes will be unaffected. So, you have to remove runes, run the script, then reapply the runes.
Items can only scale according to their material progression, which is set in the UTI and cannot be changed via scripting. This means that if an item is capped at certain level, this script cannot make it go higher (and sometimes lower, depending on the progression).
Optional files--
Scalable versions of some unique equipment (that I haven't already found done by other modders).
(2. 0) - Scalable promo and DLC items. Pretty much all of them. Why give me a nice dragonbone sword at the beginning of Awake
Scale Inventory Script is a lightweight utility that automatically scales your equipment to your level and adds scalable versions of unique items. With 269 endorsements and 7,505 downloads, it's a niche but popular tool for players who want gear to stay relevant as they progress.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community trust with 269 endorsements and 7,505 downloads
- Does exactly what it says: keeps your gear relevant without constant swapping
- Lightweight and focused—no bloat, just the scaling mechanic
⚠️ Cons
- Only two features listed, so it might not cover all gear types or special cases
- No mention of compatibility with other mods that alter leveling or loot
- Last updated in February 2026, so it might not be actively maintained for newer game patches
For players who hate outleveling their favorite gear and want a simple way to keep using it. Also great for collectors who want unique items to stay viable. Skip if you prefer a more complex overhaul or if you're fine with swapping gear regularly.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to read the mod page for any specific instructions on how the scaling works—some scripts require you to re-run them after leveling.
- If you're using other mods that change level scaling, test this in a new save first to avoid conflicts.
- Check if the script works on all equipment slots or just weapons/armor—this might affect your build.
