The shield used to belong to the Rebel Queen, Moira, mother of Maric Theirin. Though she displayed immense courage on battlefield, she was of gentle nature at the same time - something I'm sure you know who of her blood shares with her.

Thinking of which item to restore the particular, unused heraldry (an open oyster with a pearl inside) on, I came to a conclusion it's fitting for Moira to have used such image on her shield - courage and fighting spirit in the face of adversary, yet a soft and gentle side in moments of peace.

The heraldry has been applied to the Origins and Awakening versions of the shield. One needs to get a new copy of the item, otherwise the vanilla .uti is used (no heraldry).

A recommendation: Immersive DLC Integration. The mod by wizzyrm spreads all the DLC items more immersively around Ferelden, so the player doesn't get many of them very cheaply by automatically appearing in the inventory and for free.
