📋 About This Mod
THIS MOD WAS PRETTY MUCH DOA, Dan_upright no longer supports this mod! Sorry guys, nothing I can do about it, haven\'t even attempt to play DAO for years. Description: This addon removes your equipped helm after combat and reequips it when combat starts or when a gui window is opened (so you still see the helm equipped in the inventory). It remembers what helm you were wearing across a save/load and works for all party members. Install: Simply run daupdater.exe in Bioware\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship (usually under Program Files) select du_nohat_X_X.dazip, push open, than proceed with pushing \"Install Selected\" wait for the progress bar to finish than exit and start up dragon age, make sure the file is checked in the download content on the DA:O Main Menu and your done :) Uninstall: simply uncheck it on the main menu of DA, than delete the du_nohat Folder in Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\AddIns . Force load your save game if prompted Bugs: I have only witnessed one so far which is if you level up yourself or any of your party members while a helmet is on it seems to kinda stick your helmet equipped on you, this happens often, but not every time or every helmet either, a quick save/reload will immediately fix this. Credits: to Dan_upright off the Bioware Social site, for creating this amazing mod.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 719 endorsements and over 10,000 downloads
- Simple, quality-of-life improvement for roleplayers and screenshot lovers
- No need to manually toggle helmets every time you enter a town
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2009, so it may have compatibility issues with newer mods or Oblivion versions
- Only affects visuals; the helmet is still technically equipped, so it may not work with mods that alter helmet visibility
- Potential conflicts with other visual overhauls or mods that modify equipment slots
For Oblivion players who want to show off their character's face during dialogue and exploration without sacrificing helmet stats. Great for roleplayers and screenshot enthusiasts. Skip if you prefer a more immersive approach where helmets are always visible or if you use mods that already handle this feature.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since this mod is from 2009, test it with your current mod load order to ensure no conflicts with newer visual mods.
- If you use a mod manager like OBMM or Wrye Bash, install it through that to easily uninstall if needed.
- Remember that the helmet is still equipped, so you'll still get its armor rating and enchantments even though it's hidden.
