INTEL PACKET - OPERATION RED STORM Date & Time: Oct. 22, 2018 - 1300hrs Target Location: small village in the NE area of Lataband Pass, Hindu Kush mountain range of Afghanistan Enemy Personnel: 4x HVT (capture orders), 4x two-man security detail. Likely a significant enemy presence in the area, possible heavy weapons. Civilian Presence: Moderate Friendly Personnel: 2x four-man fireteams from D Co., 1st Bn., 5th SFG (Ghost Recon) About three days ago, the Intelligence Support Activity received intelligence regarding four village elders who are sympathetic to OPFOR in the region who are planning to hold a shura, where they are believed to discuss the possibility of providing weapons and supplies to the enemy. After a SIGINT intercept, it was confirmed that this meeting will take place in a small, unnamed village in the north-eastern area of the Lataband Pass. The meeting is scheduled to take place today at 1300, meaning that you will be exposed and easily visible to enemy forces in the area. However, the enemy has been sticking to the village, so an on-foot insertion may allow you to reach the village undetected. Once you're there, however, you'll probably be unable to maintain stealth, so pack some heavy firepower. Thanks to the Activity, we've had an unarmed Predator drone monitoring the village for the past six hours; in that time, the three guest elders have all arrived with a two-man security detail; the elders & their security have been spotted going in and out of the easternmost building, shaped like a standard rectangle. The host elder has his own two bodyguards as well. There has been a lot of activity in the village according to the Activity; it is not entirely clear who of the village residents may be enemy soldiers, and who are civilians. However, it has been confirmed that a number of the villagers are military-age males, so be on your guard.
